Ages

Free Preschool Program (Government Subsidy)

Because we are a non-licensed childcare facility (認可外保育施設), you need to be certified by your city as needing childcare (保育の必要性の認定) to receive the subsidy.

  • Who is eligible: children in the age 3–5 classes (from the first April after their 3rd birthday). Children in the age 0–2 classes are eligible only if the household is exempt from resident tax.
  • Monthly cap: ¥40,300 (¥45,700 for age 0–2 classes in tax-exempt households), for months from October 2026.
  • Conditions and required documents vary by city. For example, in Kasukabe both parents need childcare for at least 4 days a week and 4 hours a day (e.g. because they work). Please check with your city for details.

How it works

  1. Apply to your city yourself.
  2. Once certified, you’ll receive a certification document. Please give the school a copy. Most cities don’t inform the school, so without it we can’t confirm whether your child is eligible.
  3. Pay the monthly tuition to the school as usual.
  4. The school issues a childcare certificate (保育提供証明書) and receipts (保育料領収書). Submit them to your city. How often depends on the city (e.g. every 3 or 6 months).
  5. Your city then reimburses you, up to the monthly cap.
