The world our children will grow up in asks for more than English and knowledge. It asks them to think for themselves, make decisions, and work with others to create something new.

At Victory International School’s elementary department, English is a tool for learning, and we combine world-class education with real experiences.

Through learning with Cambridge course materials, Singapore Math, PBL (inquiry- and problem-based learning), ICT education, international exchange and work with our local community, we expand children’s curiosity and potential.

We’re not aiming for children who simply give the right answers.

We want children who ask “Why?”, think for themselves, take on challenges without fear of failure, and share their ideas with the world.

We value each child’s individuality while nurturing both academic strength and rich character.

Our Elementary Philosophy

Learn Deeply. Think Boldly. Create Meaningfully.

What matters most at Victory is that children are at the center of their own learning.

They don’t just memorize what teachers tell them. They ask questions, research, think, discuss with friends and take action.

They use what they’ve learned to create something, reflect on the results, and deepen their understanding.

We believe these experiences build children’s confidence and independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

What Makes Victory Elementary Different

01Learning with Cambridge Course Materials

Strong academics, connected to the world

Victory uses Cambridge course materials, building logical thinking, analytical skills and self-expression alongside knowledge.

In English, Math, Science and other subjects, children don’t just memorize answers; we focus on understanding why, and explaining it in their own words.

Lessons include research, discussion, written assignments and presentations.

In Japanese (Kokugo), children study content matched to Japanese grade levels, building reading, writing and expression in Japanese.

By combining international and Japanese education, we lay a foundation that keeps many future paths open.

Five Learner Attributes We Nurture

  • Confident: Has their own ideas and takes on challenges
  • Responsible: Takes responsibility for their actions
  • Engaged: Curious and eager to learn
  • Innovative: Comes up with new ideas
  • Reflective: Learns from experience and grows

We build these through daily lessons and school life.

02PBL (Inquiry- and Problem-Based Learning)

Starting with “Why?” and connecting learning to society

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a key part of education at Victory.

In PBL, children find problems in society and their daily lives, research them and work out solutions.

They learn through themes like the environment, the SDGs, science and the local community.

For example, learning about the environment doesn’t stop at the textbook. Children research, observe, experiment and share ideas with classmates, then turn what they’ve learned into projects and presentations.

The PBL Learning Cycle

  1. Explore: Discover questions and problems
  2. Test: Run experiments and research
  3. Record: Organize results and findings
  4. Design: Work out solutions
  5. Create: Bring ideas to life
  6. Improve: Learn through trial and error
  7. Present: Share their ideas

This process builds thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication.

From being given answers to finding and creating their own.

Victory puts children’s own initiative at the heart of learning.

03Singapore Math

Not just calculating, but thinking mathematically

Victory uses Singapore Math.

It starts with hands-on experience with real objects, deepens understanding through pictures and models, then moves to equations.

Concrete → Pictorial → Abstract

For word problems, children don’t start by memorizing formulas. They draw the situation, understand how the numbers relate, and then find the answer.

Children understand why an equation works and can explain their thinking.

We also value trying different methods instead of sticking to one way to the answer.

Not just “I did it!” but “I get it!”

Math builds logical thinking, problem-solving and perseverance.

04English Immersion

From learning English to learning in English

At Victory, English isn’t just a subject; it’s the language of learning and communication.

Through English, Math, Science and everyday school life, children use English and build experience thinking in it.

English lessons develop reading, writing, listening and speaking together, along with speeches and presentations.

In group work, children share their opinions, listen to friends and work together on tasks.

What matters isn’t just knowing grammar and vocabulary.

It’s the ability to share ideas, connect with people and learn new things in English.

We want children to use English naturally and communicate confidently with the world.

05Science and Hands-On Learning

Look, touch, try, discover

Science at Victory centers on hands-on learning such as observation and experiments.

Children check things with their own eyes, try them out and compare results, building scientific thinking.

“Why does this happen?”“Why was the result different from what we expected?”

Starting from questions like these, they observe, record, analyze and reflect.

By connecting what they learn to the world around them, we grow their interest in science and their curiosity.

06ICT and Programming

Technology as a tool for learning

Victory also uses digital materials and ICT devices in learning.

In the lower grades, children use tablets to build the digital skills they need for learning.

From grade 3, they learn with computers and take on programming with tools like Scratch and Minecraft.

Digital materials such as Raz-Kids for English reading and KooBits for math also support learning at home.

We help children not just receive information, but research, judge, express and create for themselves.

07International Education and Cultural Experiences

The world is our children’s field of learning

Victory brings multicultural and international education into everyday school life.

Beyond learning about world cultures and history, children experience diverse values through International Day, English drama and many cultural exchange activities.

We also connect learning to the real world through overseas immersion tours and our partnership with The Earth School in El Nido, Philippines.

Experiences in different cultures and environments broaden children’s horizons and help them understand ways of thinking different from their own.

Know the world, respect differences, expand your potential.

Victory values experiences that help children grow as members of the global community.

08Working with Our Local Community

Taking learning beyond the classroom and into society

Victory values its connection with the Kasukabe community.

Through exchanges with local schools and educational institutions, city events and learning opportunities such as Children’s University (子ども大学), children gain direct experience with society.

By sharing what they learn with local people and connecting with people of all ages, they build communication skills, responsibility and social skills.

Taking part in the community also lets children discover the joy of their learning helping others.

Looking out to the world while caring for the place we live.

Victory raises children with a global outlook and care for their community.
