For children, ages 1 to 3 are a precious time when language, emotions, body and social skills develop enormously.
Spending time with people outside the family for the first time. Playing with friends for the first time. Sharing their feelings in words and gestures for the first time.
Small daily experiences lead to big growth.
Victory International School’s Preschool is a pre-kindergarten program for children from 1 year 6 months, where they grow in heart, body, language and social skills in balance, while enjoying play and daily life in an English environment.
Based on an American early childhood curriculum, our activities respect each child’s interests and stage of development.
International and Japanese teachers work together to give warm support, so children feel safe even in their first group setting.
Coming to love English. Discovering the joy of being with others. Being able to do a little more on their own, day by day.
All of this is important learning that leads to our Kinder course.
7 Features of Victory Preschool
01Early English Exposure
From 1 year 6 months, an environment where English feels natural
A big benefit of our Preschool is spending time in an English environment from an early age.
Through teachers’ words, greetings, songs, picture books, play and everyday interactions, children naturally get used to the sounds and rhythms of English.
At this age, what matters isn’t memorizing lots of words or speaking English well.
It’s getting used to hearing English, understanding meaning through teachers’ words, expressions and gestures, and finding communication in English fun.
For example, moving to songs, tidying toys when a teacher asks, or pointing to animals in a picture book.
Children gradually widen their connection with English at their own stage of development.
Before “studying English,” “enjoying days filled with English.”
That’s the first step of English education at Victory Preschool.
02A Gentle Start to School Life
A first group setting in a safe environment
School life away from family for the first time is a big step, for children and parents alike.
At Victory, we value warm, trusting relationships with teachers so children feel safe.
At first, children may feel nervous, cry or find it hard to join in.
We accept those feelings as a natural part of growing up and respect each child’s pace.
Little by little, they get used to their teachers, find favorite activities, take an interest in friends and start joining in on their own.
Valuing small changes like these, we support their very first school life.
Because they have a safe place, children can step out into a new world.
03Learning Through Play
Nurturing curiosity and motivation through play
For young children, play is learning itself.
Stacking blocks, drawing, lining up toys, pretend play, moving to music.
Through activities like these, children discover all kinds of things.
In block play they notice shape, size and balance; in art they enjoy color and texture.
Pretend play builds imagination and the ability to express themselves in words, and playing with friends builds experience with others.
At Victory, we value Work Time, when children play freely according to their interests.
We turn “I want to try!” into growth.
04Music, Movement & Sensory Experiences
Singing, moving and enjoying all five senses
In early childhood, moving their bodies and playing with all their senses is very important.
Music & movement, art, stories and group games are part of every day at Victory.
Moving to music builds rhythm, body control and the joy of self-expression.
Activities with paint, paper and different materials grow interest in color, shape and texture.
Picture-book reading nurtures interest in language and imagination.
Enjoying all five senses supports children’s sensitivity and development.
05First Friendships & Social Skills
Taking the first steps in social skills through friendships
Preschool is an important place to be with children of the same age.
Even children who play alone at first gradually take an interest in friends and discover the fun of playing together.
Wanting to use a toy, waiting their turn, sharing their feelings.
For young children, all of these are important lessons.
At Victory, teachers stay close to children’s feelings and gradually show them how to get along with others.
“Playing together is fun!”
Through experiences like these, we build the foundations of kindness and communication.
06Growing Independence
More and more “I did it myself!”
Our Preschool also nurtures children’s independence.
Putting away their things, washing their hands, getting ready for meals, returning toys to their places.
Daily life is full of things children can try for themselves.
Instead of doing everything for them, teachers help children do a little more on their own, matched to their stage of development.
When things don’t go well, we don’t rush them; we give the support they need and watch over them.
Trying things for themselves, and small successes, build confidence and motivation.
From “I can’t” to “I want to try,” and then “I did it!”
We respect each child’s pace of growth.
07Preparing for Kinder
An important time of preparation for the Kinder course
Victory Preschool is an important preparation stage for learning in the Kinder course.
But getting ready isn’t only about learning letters and numbers early.
What matters to us is helping children feel safe in group life, take an interest in new things and want to try things for themselves.
For example:
- Listening to teachers and joining in activities
- Enjoying time in the same space as friends
- Enjoying songs and picture books, and taking an interest in words
- Expressing their feelings and wishes
- Trying everyday tasks on their own, little by little
- Taking an interest in new games and activities
These experiences lead to group activities, exploration, learning in English and independent daily life in the Kinder course.
What Preschool builds is the foundation of heart and daily life for enjoying learning in Kinder.
A Balanced Program Built Around Children’s Interests
At Victory, we balance active time and calm time, with children’s daily rhythms in mind.

- Story Time: Enjoying English picture books and stories grows interest in language and imagination.
- Art & Special Activities: Creative work and special experiences following seasonal and monthly themes.
